Week 32 Growth photo

Spring is here (or so Rachel has decided)! With walks almost every day and new spring looking outfits creeping into her closet...at least we are mentally ready for some fun summer weather ahead. Rachel is attempting to show off her two new teeth, but they are still pretty hard to see. Easy to feel, hard to see!

Week 31 Growth Photo

Deep thoughts from Rachel:

"Mommy and Daddy are lucky this is only scrap paper...next time, I'm grabbing their auto insurance bill."

The Great Wall of Rachel

Eight interlocking plastic wall panels: $69

One 6' x 10' area rug from Target: $199

The peace of mind knowing your super-charged crawler girl will be in the same general area 20 minutes from now: PRICELESS.

The Irony of an Active Lifestyle

For the past month, Rachel's energy level has shifted from "active" to "overdrive." Already a five-alarm crawler, she has recently begun pulling herself up to a standing position at every chance she gets.

Predictably, Mommy and Daddy can barely keep up with Rachel when she's awake, as Rachel goes from zero to 60 more quickly than a foreign sports car. But on the bright side for Mommy and Daddy, Rachel can also go from 60 to zero pretty quickly too, as evidenced by some recent pics taken after Rachel has fallen asleep while drinking her bedtime bottle...

"Just think, Mommy and Daddy: in 20 and 1/2 years, I can legally drink green beer!"

Week 29 Growth Photo

"You want me to sit still and do what!?!?!"

Rachel continues to eat like a champ, sleep like a champ, and move around like a champ! We can't believe she is already crawling and rolling everywhere. We are starting to use her shoes a bit more, which helps her get around on the hardwood floors (which we are not sooooo sure we need to encourage)! Lots of hugs and kisses for Mom and Dad all the time. We definitely love our little girl!

I'm on the move!

For this shot - it took 10 minutes to get one where she was sitting still, facing the camera, and arms not covering the very cute bunny on the front of her shirt! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Handrich for this very cute outfit.
Smiles for Mom!
On all fours with some smiles....
and then some laughs....
So, Mom went to put away the laundry basket and came in and found me....
.... I was trying to hide from her under the dresser in my room. Darn it, I'm just not fast enough yet!
I knock over everything I can!
Giggles at the fact that Mom is changing another dirty diaper!
AND I can open the coffee table doors to find all of Mom and Dad's board games. I think they turned it around so I can't get in it as easily, but I will find a way I am sure!

Week 28 Growth Photo

I'm all dressed up for a birthday party! It is the first time I am wearing shoes - and I don't seem to mind them all too much. Mom thinks I am just soooo cute - I never get tired of hearing it! It is definitely the point in which I don't sit still. Let's hope Mom and Dad keep up!

Vancouver

Paul and Martha went on a short trip to Vancouver BC to not only visit Martha's brother, Matthew, but to also take in some sights during the 2010 Winter Olympics! From February 16 - 20, Rachel was in the good hands of Grandma Barbara, and Paul and Martha relived their pre-parenting days of sleeping in and not worrying about a diaper bag! Words can't describe what a wonderful city Vancouver was and truly how wonderful it was to spend some great time with Matthew. We have only posted a few photos here, but to see the entire album, check it out on Martha's facebook page.We got to hold an actual torch!
Awesome seats for the USA vs Norway hockey game.
Showing our American spirit during an intermission at Canada Hockey Place.More cowbell! We cheer on the speed skaters loudly!
Holy crazy relay for men's speed skating. It was fascinating to watch!
The Inukshuk of Vancouver - sporting the ever popular red mittens!
no comment...

We know how to be silly!
Todd, Paul, Martha, and Matthew in front of the Olympic Cauldron. It was amazing to see.
